So I have been reading a lot about how mothers are classified as either a Crunchy Mama or a Silky Mama.

From what I understand, Crunchy Mamas are associated with lifestyles that incorporate more natural living : cloth diapering, home births, preferring midwives and doulas to doctors and nurses, babywearing, co-sleeping, exclusively breastfeeding, attachment parenting, utilizing alternative medicine , practicing sustainable and eco-friendly living, barefoot wandering, anti anything to do with circumcisions, vaccinations, and Cry It Out method, making own body care and cleaning products, as well as clothing and organic baby food.

Silky Mamas , also according to my understanding, prefer doctor-led healthcare for their children, epiderals and other pain management drugs,  don’t worry about GMO’s or non-organic produce, use disposable diapers, prefer cribs, are pro anything to do with circumcisions, vaccinations, and Cry It Out method, have formula fed babies, and do not care to practice any type of green or pro organic living.

Prenatal version of MomJeansMcWright tried relentlessly to meet the standards and expectations of being a fully committed Super Crunchy Mama. Then , MomJeansMcWright went into labor , and found out that she was leaning a little to the Silky side, depending on the circumstances and needs for herself and her child during labor. Postpartum version of MomJeansMcWright tried relentlessly to survive all of the trials of becoming a new mama, and honestly tossed all standards and expectations out the window. After all is said and done, I truly believe that I am more Scrunchy than anything else.
